Overview
Small and Medium-sized Enterprises (SMEs) are increasingly becoming a part of the SAC’s Higg index scope. A pilot project is currently encouraging SMEs in the apparel sector to make use of the Higg index.
The main goal of this project is to support SMEs move forward in their sustainability journey. At the end of the project the SAC will have gained insight into the specific needs of SMEs and is able to tailor SAC support and tools to address those needs.
As a result of this, clear guidance is provided for SME participants on how to create a comparable, pragmatic and meaningful sustainability impact within their organization and in their supply chain by using the Higg Suite of Tools, with tailored support.
On top of that, it will further drive the creation of a common language amongst brands and align brand activities at supplier level in order to achieve collective impact, and support the creation of transparency.
The SME group is organized to become a community where peers can share best practices and form a peer support group.
Desired Change
Activating SMEs in sustainability and developing collaboration between SMEs and the MNE frameworks and impact programs, moving the industry towards harmonization and better performance as a whole
