Suriname is one of the most afforested countries in the world. 90% of its surface is still covered by tropical forest vegetation. Despite the abundance of this natural resource, forestry never really developed in significant economic activity for the country. Because of the huge economic potential, it is important to facilitate this and have conservation of the tropical forest provide economic growth.
