Vera Espindola Rafael is an Advisor to the Ministry of Agriculture Mexico and the Director of Strategic Initiatives at the Azahar Coffee Company. She has a track record of defining approaches, from global norms of sustainable practices to tailored approaches that lead to sustainable supply chain development and sourcing. Her technical skills and knowledge lie in thematic issues of rural development and supply chain management; sourcing strategies as direct trade; farm level issues such as strengthening smallholder organisations, participatory adult learning, internal management systems for sustainable compliance, climate change mitigation and adaptation and sustainable agriculture practices.
