Tackling deforestation and transforming cattle production in Brazil

(In-person)

This event aims to discuss needed incentives to promote an inclusive, just, equitable and low impact intervention for commodities production, with a particular focus on cattle ranching. We will explore gaps in environmental compliance and support to smallholders, access to public and private market incentives, traceability schemes and technical assistance for producer support.

The discussion will highlight market players commitments and in particular the role of the finance sector on adequation and innovation of funding mandates, due diligence and prospecting deals to support the transition to a high-impact, high-integrity and high-value cattle ranching value chain in Brazil, focusing on key states leading this agenda that will deliver impacts for Brazilian Amazon and Cerrado.

Responding to Climate Disruption of Agriculture

(Hybrid)

This event occurs amidst significant supply disruptions due to climate change, already affecting key commodities such as palm oil, coffee, cocoa, and beef.

These disruptions are expected to increasingly influence market dynamics, severely impacting all stakeholders in the supply chain, including farmers, traders, brands, and retailers. To address these challenges, early investment in targeted company and supply chain resilience strategies is crucial. We will explore how adopting resilient production models at landscape level can help reduce supply and business risks.

At the breakfast event, alongside you and 50 peers from business and finance, we will share practical examples of landscape-level action for climate resilience and land restoration and how it can support reliable and inclusive production of commodities.

If you are interested in attending in-person you can register here.

For those not attending Climate Week in person, there is the option to join online.
