Program Account (Part-time 0.5 FTE) – Utrecht, the Netherlands

We’re excited to seek out a great team player and solution-oriented Program Accountant (Part-time 0.5 FTE) to join our IDH Agri-commodities Business Unit. We hope you’re the one to join our dynamic team!

You will be under the supervision of the Senior Program Controller and work hand in hand with the Program Team, Corporate Finance Team, external partners, etc., spreading in Europe, India, Vietnam, Peru, Costa Rica.

The role

The purpose of this job is to ensure financial integrity in accounting records for the generation of the provision of quality and timely financial reports; to review and analyse accounting ledgers and contribute and strengthen the internal control and accounting systems for compliance at IDH.

Main responsibilities:

  • Make sure incoming invoices, funding contracts and letters of assignment, related to the programs for which you are responsible, are booked correct and timely in Spend Cloud and Exact.
  • Regularly update the administration and checking the correctness of the information of PowerBI.
  • Ensure correct financial accounting of the programs, preparing monthly closing and reconciliations (Exact and Program Dashboard) and providing (data required for the management) reporting.
  • Responsible for a well-structured documentation of the financial program administration as input for the (annual) audit files.
  • Provide good Accounts Receivable management, to make sure invoices towards (private) partners, related to their contribution to the programs, are sent and paid on time.
  • Ensure that all monthly financial checks are timely carried out.

  • You are a team player with strong professional integrity and cultural sensitivity.
  • You work independently, are self-motivated and proactive, and possess strong analytical skills and attention to detail.

What you bring.

  • A minimum of three (3) years of work experience in financial accounting, particularly in an international context
  • A bachelor’s degree (or equivalent work experience) in finance, accounting, business economics, or another relevant field
  • Professional certification in finance OR proven work experience in Program Accounting.
  • Full professional proficiency in English; proficiency in another widely spoken language would be an asset.
  • Strong Excel skills
  • Ability to work in a team and independently.

  • A salary range between EUR 3,194 – 3,993 (excluding 8% holiday allowance) per month (based on a 40-hour work week), job level 14. Important note: This is part-time role with 20-hour work week (50% FTE). The job level is evaluated based on IDH methodology; the successful candidate will be placed within the range depending on relevant work experience. The selection process is conducted, applying STAR interview methodology.
  • A part-time (20 hours) 1 year contract initially, with the intention to extend (as this is a permanent position).
